One of my regular haunts is the Rexall in the PATH system at First Canadian Place. I am a huge fan of their cosmetics section of the store…it is huge and I love to get lost in it during lunch time during the week!
I was also informed (by Natalie, L’Oréal Paris Flagship Manager at First Canadian Place) that this particular store happens to be the L’Oréal Paris flagship store. That explains the equally large L’Oréal Paris display in front of the store! I was approached by Natalie while in the store about 2 weeks ago about an event and immediately agreed to sign up for a makeup application
Let’s see some pictures:
and check out my MUA’s stash….
I got to work with Amanda. How talented is she….I learned so much from her! After removing my makeup (I had foundation on), she taught me how to work with product, order that products should be applied, how to properly conceal my hyperpigmentation and sun spots and how to match foundation, choose a type for my skin. She showed me how to blend out and what type of tool (brush in most cases) to use for application. I kept asking question after question. My face looked amazing of course. What I really appreciated was that she would apply a product (explain what she was doing) and then give me a mirror to observe what she did. I could see my face transforming before my own eyes!!
Products used on my face:
Foundation: Visible lift smooth absolute 162 Nude Beige
Concealer: True match C123
Powder: Bare Natural Translucent
Blush: One sweep 820 poppy
Then she moved onto my eyes…she used colors that I wouldn’t have thought to put together:
Eyeshadows: these were all of the *new* infallible eyeshadows. I got some of these in my bag at Luminato from L’Oréal Paris but haven’t truly appreciated them until recently. They give the ‘higher’ end eyeshadows a run for their money-extremely pigmented, and long lasting. The color selection is awesome and the price can’t be beat!
005 purple obsession
002 hourglass beige
015 flashback silver
014 eternal black
*of course I have no photo of my face-brilliant, yes?*
Let’s not forget the lips:
lip pencil in rose/mauve
lip gloss in 154 watermelon crush (le gloss-*this color is limited edition and it’s beautiful. I highly recommend picking it up!)
After she was through, Amanda wrote everything down for me (thank goodness) and Natalie gave me a wonderful gift bag filled with samples and coupons! I went over and picked up the purple obsession shadow, the watermelon crush gloss, and some eye makeup remover:
I love going back to work more beautiful then when I arrived. Huge thanks to Natalie, Amanda and L’Oréal Paris for making this possible!
Natalie mentioned that there are monthly events at First Canadian Place and if anyone out there in the area is interested, please email her directly at email@example.com to be put on the mailing list!
