I pay attention to Twitter.
Especially when Tiffany M. of @Shes_So_Savvy speaks about great food. She wasn’t kidding when she raved about Angelo’s on King!

So I am SURE you have read a lot of posts about the Annabelle/Marcelle Beauty Premiere event held at the Thompson Hotel in Toronto. I was fortunate enough to be invited to this event (Thank you Miss Isabel P) and it was one of THE events to attend for Toronto’s beauty bloggers!
This was definitely the place to be on a Wednesday night. I’ll warn you now-this post is PIC HEAVY!
One of the ‘perks’ of being an American living in Canada is the fact that I get to celebrate Thanksgiving TWICE!!! Canadian thanksgiving happens a month and a half prior to American Thanksgiving. I love to cook big holiday meals and that is not going to stop because I am 8 hours away from “home.” So I started my own ‘tradition’ of cooking a Canadian Thanksgiving. I get all my recipes from Chatelaine magazine-whose October issues always have a pull out recipe section. This year’s recipes are nothing short of fantastic!
I can’t say enough good things about this place….a little gem on King West. Cherry & I would always walk by the sandwich board sign on the sidewalk and talk about popping in. We made good on that last week….and liked it so much, we had to come back! I had forgotten my camera the first time so we justified the second trip to get “blog-worthy” pictures. Oh who am I kidding-we actually went back for the cookies.
One of the few ‘going out’ foods I afford myself is sushi. The other half’s claim to fame is sushitoronto.ca (shameless plug), and he & his business partner stumbled upon this recently opened restaurant. He had told me it was good….but his interpretation of ‘good’ is way different than mine. Usually.
I have always had it in my mind that Chanel was an “off limits” brand for me. Chanel is associated with luxury in my world ( and I know I am not alone there). In addition, me being the person that I am (crazy+spontaneous+colorful), how could Chanel possibly fit into my life?
In our quest for awesome espresso based drinks-our last stop, Thor Espresso mentioned the Indie Coffee pass. It’s a pass that includes Indie coffee shops all over Toronto and allows a user (for a one time fee) a drink with a value of up to $4.00. It’s a great idea-and if the shops weren’t so spread out, Cherry and I would have surely purchased (however we are restricted to shops we can get to within our 1 hour lunch break).
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day! What better way to put that to the test than attend a breakfast event (featuring Quaker oatmeal) at School Bakery & Cafe in Liberty Village. Quaker is kicking off their ‘Unlock Amazing’ campaign (on Facebook) to fight hunger across Canada. It’s easy to donate, so please check the link out!
