Totally inspired to do a favorites post.  No other reason!

Tarte Amazonian Clay shimmering powder in Champagne-this product was gifted to me and I honestly don’t think they make it in the shimmery quilted packaging that I have.  This is a beautifully buttery highlight with the right amount of shimmer.  It can be built up but looks beautiful wherever it’s applied.  (more…)

Caprina Goats Milk Soap and Hand lotion

*I was sent these products for review-my thoughts are my own! Please be wary when reading blogger reviews-it is NOT a requirement to disclose whether one has received a product for review or not in Canada, but it IS good manners and ethics 🙂 *

Full disclsoure: I didn’t fall down and faint with excitement when this packaged showed up in the mail.  Ho-hum another lotion and soap.  Big deal, right?

Fast forward to almost 2 weeks later…..how about I tore my bedroom apart because I couldn’t find the lotion?  YES ITS THAT GOOD.  I use it exclusively on my hands right now because I don’t want to waste a drop! I’m sure I don’t have to tell you the skin on the back of your hands is thinner then the rest, and therefore shows age MORE QUICKLY.  It’s important to keep your hands moisturized, hydrated, and nourished.

Caprina body lotion contains Fresh Goat’s Milk (did you know a lot of products that contain Goat’s milk use a powdered version?).  Fresh Goat’s milk is a highly effective skin moisturizer.  Orchid Oil adds extra moisturizing properties to fresh goats milk.

-Helps restore the skin’s natural moisture level

-Non-greasy and absorbs quickly

-Dermatologist tested

-Finished product-not tested on animals

-Paraben free!

Sounds like a winner to me….if the soap is half as good as the lotion, I’ll be thrilled! I don’t doubt it, as it contains shea butter! I’ll keep you posted!

used to hate you, now I adore you……Soap & Glory

Sometimes, I judge products too quickly.  Such is the case for Soap & Glory.  Well, these 2 products from Soap & Glory that is…..

Originally I was not a fan of texture/fragrance of either of these 2 products HOWEVER, these have been my ‘reach-fors’ as the weather has become increasingly more winter-esque.

Flake Away Shea Butter, sugar and peach seed powder spa body polish is a gentle and effective exfoliator.  It leaves behind a bit of moisture and doesn’t leave me itchy or dry.  I use it 2 or 3 times a week prior to shaving.

The Righteous Butter contains shea butter and aloe vera. It’s the proper amount of moisture post shower or even when you need a product that will instantly moisturize….I tend to use it on my hands.  I wish they made it in a smaller size though!  I prefer this product over the hand cream for my VERY dry hands!

So I’ll be taking a second look at products before turning up my nose at them from now on.  These 2 products may surprise you too!

Have you used Soap & Glory? What are your favorites from the brand?

Going green gets better with Ella’s Botanicals!

Even though ingredients aren’t necessarily a ‘make it or break it’ item for me, I thought it would be important to post about a Canadian line of products that pays EXTRA attention to ingredients!  Ella’s Botanicals is a Toronto-based all natural body care brand known for handmade clean and green products.  They have recently made *key* modifications to their lotion formulas, making themselves even ‘greener’!

Taking George’s cream for a spin around the office-and offsite too!

I work in an office in an administration capacity.  I handle a lot of paper, do a lot of typing, and occasionally talk on the phone. So of course my hands get dry.  I have used MANY MANY MANY different types of hand creams.  They all seem to work at first (especially when I have a paper cut-OWWWW), but I find many of them leave me wanting more.  They’re either too runny, too thick, don’t absorb well, or absorb too fast.  Before I know it, I’m  dry again and needing to re-apply.

Why it’s great to remove your eye makeup in Canada…..

One of the things I absolutely loathe at the end of the day is taking off my eye makeup.  I used to feel like this particular “chore” goes on forever and that even after I am “done”, there’s still makeup there-taunting and teasing me.  Q-tip after Q-tip, cotton pad after cotton pad-I have found myself emptying the trash more frequently.
