You need it-Vichy Aqualia Thermal Boosting Essence Water

*I received this product for review*

To be perfectly honest, I have never known quite what to think about ‘essence’ products. Sure, I’ve seen them-in the many Asian beauty stores that I frequent….and they have always been suggested to me but I thought to myself, what does ‘ESSENCE’ do that my toner, serum, and moisturizer don’t already do?

Well. A lot.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Boosting Essence water is neither toner nor serum…..yes, you read that right.  IT IS NOT TONER, and IT IS NOT SERUM. so what is it exactly?  Well, to quote a fellow beauty blogger Sicilianna.…it’s more of a ‘pre-serum.’  This is something that you would use post cleanse, post toner, but pre-serum.  You know, like what I just said.  In my mind, serum is a product used to better prepare the skin to absorb moisturizer.  So a PRE-serum would be used to better prepare the skin to absorb serum in order to better prepare the skin to absorb moisturizer.  Confused yet?  Me too.  But it works.  Read on.  Please.

So what does it do?  Well let’s take a peek at this informative diagram from Vichy:

Texture

Thin but not exactly a ‘water’-definitely a liquid.   You do NOT need a lot and be CAREFUL when you dispense the product.  That’s a tip from me to you.  This product IS fragranced but not heavily.  I’d describe it as clean and fresh.

My results:

Dear readers & subscribers…I have oily skin (yes, as an ADULT).  Guess what? Oily skin still needs hydration….us oily skin types just don’t need it in the form of a heavy, thick cream.  This is a fantastic addition to my skincare routine!  I put it on post toner and BAM! Hydration.  I have found that my skin appears clearer and looks refreshed.  This product can be used with any skin-type.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Boosting Essence Water will set you back $29.95 CAD (Suggested retail). This product isn’t listed on the Vichy website (yet) but I have seen it in several Shoppers Drug Mart locations.  I’d recommend it for anyone looking for an instant boost of hydration.

Vichy Cleansing beauty oil-take it all off!

Because I’m all about the pre-cleanse.  Dermalogica introduced me to this and I’ve been hooked ever since.  My quandry with cleansing oils is that I want to find one that works well for a decent price (um shu umera you are OUT of the running).

So I’m happy to say I have found a GREAT oil for a decent price.  My wallet is loving me these days.

Vichy cleansing beauty oil contains the benefits of an oil and a cleansing milk in one step.  It contains micellar technology to gently remove makeup and impurities and cameilia oil to improve softness, radiance and smoothness.

-contains soothing and fortifying Vichy Thermal Spa Water

-Paraben free

-Tested on sensitive skin

And it does a GREAT job on removing my waterproof mascara and eye makeup-this is one pass, holding the cotton round on each eye for 10 seconds.

vichy micellar

Overall, I recommend this cleansing oil as a first step to your night time skin care routine.  It will dissolve the dirt and impurities and allow your products to work better-what’s not to love?

Have you tried any cleansing oils? What’s your favorite and why?

Firming up with Vichy!

Vichy knows what I need.  And what I need right now is a solution to these jiggly thighs….and before you go ahead with the “You shoulds….” please note, I am in the latter part of a whole food cleanse (FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER EVER GIVEN UP COFFEE), and have committed to exercise/movement 3 days a week.  All that AND the warmer weather (which will force me to be outside), and I can’t see myself jiggly for too much longer.

But then there’s the cellulite.  WHY WHY WHY…..even at my fittest, it still resides on the backs of my thighs.  Ultimately, the total cellulite ‘solution’ for me will include liposuction but since I’m not independently wealthy (yet), I’m thrilled with topical solutions.

Firming during the day: Ideal Body Serum Milk

IdealBody_Serum_Milk_390x315For the 1st time, active ingredients traditionally used in face care: Hyaluronic Acid and LHA were combined with 10 fundamental oils to help women obtain ideal skin quality on the body: firmer, smoother and more radiant skin. Vichy Research discovered that lipids are essential agents for ideal skin quality. Anti-dryness, improved skin radiance and luminosity, smoothing, softness and firming action are the many benefits that the new IDEAL BODY range offers.

So Hyaluronic acid is a common ingredient in dermal fillers (Juvederm, etc) and is used to ‘plump’ and ‘fill’ lines.  It works well when injected and does have promise when applied topically (there are many facial products that contain it). I will say that this is MY first experience with Hyaluronic Acid for the body.  Also, I must say that this is also my FIRST experience with a serum for the body.  Do you know of any others?

I enjoy this product because it firms (not to the level of the night product), absorbs quickly, and has such a great fragrance.  I’m anxious to see how it performs over time.  I will say that for the texture of it, it moisturizes so well.  This is a GOOD thing.

Firming during the night:  Cellu Destock Night Time

celludestock

*tip* look inside the package for tips on how to use-where to place the product, massaging, kneading.  These ‘instructions’ even discuss lymphatic drainage.  A+ for this Vichy……..the lymph system isn’t discussed ENOUGH!  I’m keeping the packaging-following the instructions is essential for this to actually work.  There is a lot of ‘science’ in the description from Vichy but go ahead and have a read:

Celludestock Night time integrates the latest revolutionary complex from Vichy, l’Adipo-stim. Adipo-stim is a combination of Zingiber and Dioschol in synergy with Pure Caffeine 5% to decongest, drain and improve microcirculation. Zingiber helps regulate the natural destocking process overnight and Dioschol limits the stocking of new lipids.

This is my standout product.  I apply this and feel it.  The instructions say to wash it off your hands after applying.  I’d like to think it will be working over time and that I’ll see results, I won’t hold my breath.  I like the way it feels after applying.  Maybe I can be convinced to take a photo after finishing this product….hmmm on second thought, better take my word for it.

*I was sent these products for review-my thoughts are my own! Please be wary when reading blogger reviews-it is NOT a requirement to disclose whether one has received a product for review or not in Canada, but it IS good manners and ethics 🙂 *

I thought I was through with breakouts after I hit 30.  Fast Forward to my 40’s-Yeah, wrong.  Granted, I do get breakouts less frequently….but they still come.  When they DO come, I feel that they are more ‘severe’ than they were when I was young.  It’s a different type of breakout too. Different breakout, different approach yields different (and better) results.

Normaderm by Vichy is not a brand spanking new line.  It’s the first time I’ve used it though.  So far, I’m pretty happy! My face feels fresh, clean -and NOT tight or itchy!  WIN!IMG_3751

Deep cleansing purifying gel

Details:

Normaderm Deep Cleansing Gel with Salicylic Acid, Totarol, a new purifying ingredient, and Eperuline to regulate inflammations. Cleanses and unblocks pores deep down and immediately soothes skin. Ingredient Innovation: Together Salicylic Acid 0.5% + Totarol, a new purifying active ingredient, limit the proliferation of propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria responsible for acne, and thus prevent the formation of imperfections. Eperuline, a new soothing ingredient of natural origin, helps regulate inflammations. Glycyrrhizinate Acid soothes skin and helps reduce redness. In a lightly scented refreshing gel. Results: Double purifying and anti-irritant action. Dermatological Standards: Allergy tested. Soap free. Tested on sensitive skin under Dermatological control. Non-comedogenic.

How to use:

Use twice daily. Wet face, work product into a lather; massage onto face avoiding the eyes. Rinse well.

My thoughts:

Love this!  I liken the fragrance in this product to a shampoo that I used to use in the 80’s called Aquamarine (which according to one of my YouTube subscribers, you can find in Dollarama-cool!).  This product lathers well and rinses off easily.

Purifying pore-tighetning lotion

Details:

The intensive formula ensures clear skin with salicylic acid concentrated at 0.5%. Totarol, a new purifying ingredient , inhibits the proliferation of propionibacterium acnes, which are the bacteria responsible for acne. Eperuline, a new soothing ingredient of natural origin, regulates inflammation.  Impurities are eliminated, and the appearance of pores are reduced for a more even skin surface and a matte effect.

How to use:

Using a cotton pad, cover the entire complexion with a thin layer one to three times daily. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day.

My thoughts:

Well, I was ‘Toner-challenged’ until recently.  I was using toner once a day (at night) maybe 3 times a week.  Um yeah, how about I’m supposed to be using it the morning AND at night and every other day.  Because I’m mid-breakout, I’m doing well with the 2x daily.  Should I experience dryness, I will use the toner once daily in the evening.

Hydrating acne-care Salicyclic Acid lotion

Details:

This lightweight, oil-free lotion is clinically proven to clear skin of acne imperfections in 7 days. In just 1 week of application, clinical results show significant reduction in inflammatory lesions by 20.10%, and reaching to a 63.92% reduction by the 4th week.

How to use:

Cleanse the skin thoroughly before applying product. Cover the entire affected area with a thin layer, one to three times daily. Because too much drying of the skin may occour, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two or three more times daily if needed or as directed by a doctor. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce appication to once a day or every other day.

My thoughts:

I’ve been using this in the evening.  Can’t say I hate it or love it yet, but I WILL say that I enjoy waking up to my blemishes shrinking significantly during the night.

I have high hopes and good vibes about the Normaderm line-and I’m going to continue using it! If you have oily skin and experience breakouts as an adult (I’d say 25+ years old types), give this a shot.

New products from Vichy! Idealia Eye contour and Idealia BB cream!

*I was sent these products for review-my thoughts are my own! Please be wary when reading blogger reviews-it is NOT a requirement to disclose whether one has received a product for review or not in Canada, but it IS good manners and ethics 🙂 *

I’ve raved about the Idealia serum way back when….and for good reason! It’s amazing! So check out these new products from Vichy (well one is the serum 🙂 ).

IMG_3753

IMG_3754

Idealia Eyes

-Corrects dark circles

-Smooths fine lines

-Reduces shadows

This product is a ‘hybrid’ product for the eye area.  The eye contour idealizer merges both eye care and make up (read: it’s tinted) with technology using ‘Double Correction’-both optical and biological.   It is a fast absorbed, light texture that is rich and hydrating with no oily residue.

IMG_3756

Idealia BB cream

-Illuminates

-Evens the complexion

-Moisturizes

-Smooths fine lines

-Refines skin texture

-Protects

This BB cream is formulated with  pink corrective mineral pigments to instantly extinguish the grey tone.  This conceals imperfections, evens and illuminates the complexion, and erases blemishes.  This product is enriched with Kombucha, which is an active ingredient that reduces grey tones in the complexion.

IMG_3755

Idealia serum

Paraben-free

-Fragrance free

-Allergy tested

-Formulated for sensitive skin

-Dermatologist tested

Refines skin texture, visibly reduces the appearance of pores, and illuminates complexion for more youthful-looking skin.
Featuring Vichy’s first behavioral molecule association, LR2412 + LHA. Inspired by the skin’s natural rejuvenation process, LR2412 accelerates skin’s repair and boosts its resistance to external aggressors. Micro-exfoliating LHA helps to stimulate renewal and reduce the appearance of surface pigmentation.

I’ve already had great results with the Vichy Idealia Serum, so I envision even better results with the Eye contour and BB cream!

Vichy Normaderm Night Detox-another weapon in my adult acne battle!

*I was sent these products for review-my thoughts are my own! Please be wary when reading blogger reviews-it is NOT a requirement to disclose whether one has received a product for review or not in Canada, but it IS good manners and ethics 🙂 *

If you’ve read my recent posts or watched me on YouTube (shameless plug), you’ll know I’ve been struggling with breakouts.  Yes, at MY AGE!!! WTH?

I want to share with you a product that I’m actually enjoying and that I feel is really contributing to my success in working with my oily skin (not against it).

IMG_3774

Details:

Those with oily, blemish prone skin (ME) suffer from an over production of sebum during the night. By morning, the skin can feel dirty and dull with additional blemishes. New Normaderm Night Detox targets the skin overnight by helping to control the production of sebum while purifying the skin.

Upon awakening:

  • Sebum production is controlled
  • Imperfections appear reduced
  • Pores tightened
  • Radiant complexion
  • Even skin texture
  • Skin feels clean & fres

Powerful formula yet kind to the skin. The texture is light and non greasy leaving the skin with a clean fresh sensation.

How to use:

Apply nightly to clean, dry skin. Avoid the eye contour area.

My thoughts:

I’ve been using this for 2 solid weeks (at the time of posting) and I love it!  When I wake up, my skin isn’t a complete grease pit and my blemishes DO look smaller or like they are going away.  Exactly what I want.  This product is fragranced but not heavily. It applies easily and it isn’t drying.

Cellulite. I have it. Now what.

*I received this product for review*

Guess what?

I have cellulite. I want to get rid of it.  I won’t pull the trigger on liposuction due to the pain, downtime and cost.

So what do I do when I need to wear clothing that potentially could expose my ripples?

Vichy Cellu Destock Serum Flash…..probably one of the BEST cellulite creams available.

First, I have to give Vichy a lot of credit for being very up-front about what this product CAN and CAN NOT do.  Here’s what they say about Cellu Destock:

celludestock

Firstly, this product contains 3 active ingredients at their highest concentration combined with instant skin blurring effect:

-Pure caffeine: has a lipolytic action (breakdown of fatty deposits). It improves fluid drainage

-Hyaluronic acid: known for it’s plumping properties. In this product, it’s combined with glycerine to leave skin feeling moisturized.

-Salicylic acid: assists with texture, speeds up the elimination of superficial dead cells.

Cellu Destock’s 5 Silhouette Actions:

-Reduces the appearance of cellulite

-Targets stubborn zone

-Improves firmness

-Improves skin uniformity

-Improves skin’s texture

So how has this been working out for me?

Quite well actually.  I like the product-it smells pleasant, and is easy to apply. I like that it is cap-less.  It leaves my skin firmer. You’re going to have to take my word for it on the reduction of cellulite because I”m not going to take photos of my thighs….not brave enough!  It IS a temporary effect though.  But over time since I’ve started using this product (AND cleaning up my diet, AND exercising, AND increasing my water intake), I’ve noticed a *slight* reduction of cellulite in my thighs.

If you’re like me and have cellulite, but don’t want to go under the knife and have surgery, give this product a try!

It retails for $50.00CAD and is available at most mass-market retailers.

Summer MUST HAVES!

It’s finally, FINALLY here-we’ve waited so long for the warmer temps, the longer daylight hours, the cocktails on a patio or several.

But when summer does eventually roll up, it’s also important to be READY.  By ready, I mean, making sure your skin is glowing, and your locks are flowing.  Check out my summer must haves!

*Please note, some of these products have been received for review, but not all of them.  I also have backups of most of these, so if you see something in a box, it’s a backup.  Yes, it’s THAT good.*

Smooth skin

IMG_3645

hemlines are movin’ on up as are the temperatures.  Don’t get caught with cactus legs or a non-milk mustache.  For you shavers out there, something I LOVE to use on my legs is this Venus snap razor.  It’s compact, gets the job done with 5 blades and can travel (not that I’m going to be shaving in a public bathroom, but hey, in a pinch…..okay, I’ll leave that there).  Pair the snap with this  Olay  Satin Care shaving gel, and you are good to go!

For the face, I use these skin envy strips.  No muss, no fuss and they REALLY work (I did a youtube demo on these, so I know). What’s great about these strips is that they are a natural product and since the strips are prepared already, no messy wax on your fingers!

IMG_3646

Oh, and don’t forget to exfoliate PRIOR to shaving-so important to loosen up all the ingrown hairs and remove dead skin.  My current exfoliation product is this Kohna Coffee foaming sugar scrub from Sweet Pea Soap Company (a local company in Toronto).  I like it because it’s not a harsh exfoliator-AND it foams up like a soap after you rub it in.  Cool!  Bonus that it’s a natural product, made locally, and the business is owned by a woman.  All wins!

As the hemlines move up, don’t forget to keep your jiggles in check….cottage cheese is a great snack but not appetizing on the legs.  To reduce the appearance of celulite, use a caffeine containing cream like this Vichy Cellu Destock Serum Flash.  It’s also got hyaluronic acid and light reflecting pearls so your skin appears smoother and has a firmer texture.  Your other option? Liposuction…..so I’ll take the Vichy, thanks.

Soft, flowing locks

IMG_3648

It’s no secret that I color my hair (well I have someone color it that is).  I keep it well protected.  My picks for products include the Vidal Sassoon Color Finity line.  This line was specifically designed to protect color treated hair.  In addition to shampoo and conditioner, there is a hairspray AND a cleansing conditioner (so all you Wen people listen up!).  I love this line and use it religiously to maintain FRESH color!  To finish off my look after shampoo, cleansing and styling, I use the Herbal Essences Shine mist, spritzing lightly around my entire head.  Voila!  Smooth, shiny hair.

IMG_3649

For in-between shampoo days, dry shampoos are a GREAT idea.  Some of my current favorites include the Pantene line (I am so glad they finally came out with dry shampoo), the Herbal Essence sNaked line, and Finesse.  The herbal essences product is PERFECT to put in your purse-I keep mine in my desk drawer at work (and it’s still there, so I can’t show it to you). Great for touch ups during the day.

Treatment-wise, I like to use the liveclean Miracle Nutrition Oil on my ends.  This is a treatment you use BEFORE shampoo, and works wonderfully to keep your hair nourished.   Since I’m blonde and my hair is fine, my ends are prone to splitting.  I find that this keeps that in check.  My tip?  Shake it to activate….it says that on the directions but don’t forget!

IMG_3654

My favorite summer cocktail includes these 2 products from Greg May (Greg May Hair Architects in Toronto).  The recipe goes a little something like this: 1 pump Be Strong Keratin-Infused transforming Serum + 1 pump Smooth Operator Leave-In Conditioner.  Mix well and emulsify in the palm of your hands and apply to hair.  Style as usual.  I find the combination of these 2 products really fights the flyaways and the frizzies. The best part of this cocktail? No calories AND fabulous hair!

Glowing skin!

IMG_3650

Anyone else here a  tanning bed convert?  Unfortunately, I will admit that in the early part of  2007, I was using tanning beds like crazy.  My skin has suffered from it-greatly.  While I am actively working on repairing my sun damage, I STILL crave my summer ‘glow.’  How do I achieve it?  Honestly, I love going to Me & T studio in Toronto to have a custom airbrush tan (that post is coming up).  If I can’t make it to the studio, I use Hawaiian Tropic Island Radiance Creme Self Tanner. This is a spray lotion that applies easily to skin with minimal streaking.  My tip about streaking? If you’re concerned or worried, mix the Tropic Island Glow into your lotion and apply. The only down side to self tanning at home is that there is some drying time involved.  I just use that time to walk around and do housework.  A clean house and faux glow? YES PLEASE! Ladies and gents if you are fair skinned like I am, please consider applying self tanner before wearing shorts/skirts.  It does wonders for the appearance of your legs, they look thinner and firmer and it won’t blind everyone else in close proximity. I have my University roommate to thank for pointing this out to me one summery day many years ago.

glowing skin is one thing but what about protection from the sun? The sun’s rays ARE damaging, we know this, it’s been proven.  Applying sunscreen? Not my favorite thing but there are several products that I like and all sorts of new technology available to suit your every SPF related need.

For my face, I have been LOVE-LOVE-LOVE-ing this L’Oreal Paris BB sunscreen. It has a touch of tint, the right amount of glow and SPF 50.  Lately, I’ve been wearing it on its own.

For the rest of me, there are 3 products that really stand out to me and surprisingly, NONE are lotions!  The Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 30 is an Invisible, alcohol free mist that is dry upon application.  I love it because it is SO SO light and the scent is amazing.  It also has a cooling effect on the skin.  I just read that it’s formulated for people with active lifestyles, possibly indicating that it’s sweatproof.  I know Vichy products can be a bit pricey, but this is your skin we’re talking about here.  You know, the largest organ you have?  Make the investment.

L’Oreal Paris has a fantastic Sublime Sun sunscreen line of products that include lotions, sprays, a mousse and an alcohol free spray! The Silky Sheer SPF 30 Mousse is one of my *new* favorites.  Incredibly light, broad spectrum protection with Vitamin E.  And a light summer scent.  I’m also enjoying the Invisible protect Dry Oil Spray, also containing Vitamin E.  The oil is water resistant so if you are a swimmer, you may want to check it out.

Keep in mind, dear readers, you need a full shot glass of sunscreen to protect your body.  What you put in that shot glass afterwards is up to you of course 😉

And what about the face?

IMG_3651

Well after sunscreen, good skin care is important….especially in the summer.  I’ve been loving the Olay FreshEffects Out of this Swirled deep pore clean & exfoliating scrub.  I use this 3 times a week to clear my pores of pollution, dirt and debris (one of the downers about working in the city-skin is exposed to so many ickies).   At night, I also use the tea tree toner from Sweet Pea Soap Company.  It makes sure my pores are spotless AND doesn’t leave my skin tight or itchy-again, a completely natural product!

the under-eye area is of concern to me now that I’ve moved into my 40th year on this planet (more than half way through it too-whoah).  2 products that I’m a big fan of (so much so that I have BACK-UPS) are from Olay total effects.  The eye brightening CC cream is a daily treatment that provides coverage and correction to the eye area.  I like it because it feels cool when it’s applied and has a slight tint.  I don’t have time to mess around with concealer in the summer and find that all of my concealers are way too light for me!  I pat this on, blend it in lightly and I’m set.  I also have a crush on the dark circle minimizing CC cream (in a brush applicator).  This is the product that comes in my purse with me and hides my lack of sleep days.  It’s portable and no fingers required for application!! What I truly love about these 2 products is how light they are and how much coverage they provide.

Since my skin is oily, touch ups aren’t an option for me, they are mandatory.  I enjoy having wet cloths around (in my desk and in my purse).  The Olay total effects 7 wet cloths remove makeup but don’t strip the skin dry. They are just handy to have around….especially after my lunch hour yoga class. I didn’t know it was possible to sweat that much in yoga…..phew!

Speaking of sweating…..we all do it AND it’s a good sign that you’re properly hydrated  (but don’t forget to drink LOTS of water especially if you’re in the sun frequently).  However, the odor…..it’s like the elephant in the room.  Instead of trying to act cool (with your arms glued to your side), how about you just BE cool and use this Secret Outlast antiperspirant.  This product goes the extra mile to keep you cool, calm and collected.

Finishing touches.

IMG_3652

I tend to keep it light in the summer…..very rarely will I wear foundation unless I’m heading off to an event, wedding, party, date.  Right now, I’m using the Olay total effects CC tone correcting moisturizer with sunscreen. If I feel the need, I’ll layer it over the L’Oreal Silky Sheer BB cream.  This product evens out skin tone, provides light coverage and contains a broad spectrum sunscreen.

One more product that needs a HUGE mention.  Marcelle CC cream.  Yes.  I actually use this year round and adore it….I mean adore it.  It has 24k gold in it, and that’s a good reason to love it but I like it because it just blends SO well into my skin.  I have even cracked the lid.  I will buy this again and again….Marcelle was one of the first Canadian companies to make a BB, CC, AND DD cream by the way.  I like the BB and the DD but my heart is with the CC.

Makeup is kept quite light too.  This Covergirl Cheekers blush in  180 brick rose complements my summer face beautifully and doesn’t require a lot of product.   I like to make a statement so Covergirl lipstick in 325 Spellbound gives me that pop I need on my lips (a feature I tend to emphasize).  Finally, if you’re feeling frisky (or you’re me), take things up a notch with the Covergirl shadow pot in 305.  I pop this in the corner and blend slightly into the crease….it’s part business and part PARTY!!!

Fragrance you say?

IMG_3653

I have my favorites…..one of my recents is Yardley English Lavender.  I still can’t believe how great this smells and was ready to write up a scathing review of it but it’s just SO beautiful.  Another favorite of mine would be Theirry Mugler Alien Aqua Chic.  It’s his Alien fragrance but lighter….good for the office, especially mine-so many scent sensitive folks around these days.

And there you have it-my summer favorites. Does this all go on my face and body simultaneously? NO, of course not but this is my summer repetoire. I have been trying to use reasonably priced products as I’m finding that the technology and quality of drugstore brands has improved a LOT!

What are your summer favorites and would you try any of the products I’ve listed above?   Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks for reading…..I truly appreciate all of you who take the time to read my posts and comment.

Having fun in the sun with Vichy!!!

*I received this product for review*

I have worn sunscreen faithfully since 2008. Pre 2008-I was slathering myself in overpriced accelator lotion and had 3 pairs of tanning bed goggles in my car.  I’ve smartened up since then and protected myself with a decent amount of SPF.

Canadians have wised up along with me-or so says Vichy:

“80% of Canadians use sun protection which is an increase of 10% from 2008 and the majority of Canadians use a minimum SPF of 30.  50% of Canadians are living with sensitive skin.”

I’m sure you already know this but just in case you didn’t….it is important to protect your skin ALL year long.  UVA rays are consistent throughout the year.  Sunrays can travel through clouds and are reflected in high amounts by snow and water, causing exposure to the same rays twice.

UVA Rays are Aging Rays that penetrate deeply into the skin and can travel through glass. Long UVAs are also responsible for greyish skin, irregular texture and unwanted wrinkles and spots.

UVB Rays are Burning Rays responsible for ‘tans’ and sunburns. They make up 5% of UV rays.

So remember when I said I wear my SPF daily?  Check THIS out:

Did you know that SPF only measures the UVB protection and not the UVA?

Vichy Capital Soleil contains the #1 filter recommended by dermatologists. It’s called Mexoryl XL-SX with Parsol 1789 and Octocrylene (a photostabilizer), ensuring broad spectrum protection from UVB rays AND UVA rays.
