Gosh I can’t even remember the last time I have been to a Clinique counter. I was kind of turned off ever since they started “cloning” Happy perfume, and I felt like they weren’t coming out with anything ‘new’ so why bother.
I was recently at a department store doing some ‘research’ (*ahem* sure *cough*) and remembered reading several blogs raving about Clinique Chubby sticks. So I wandered over and immediately spotted the display.
I ended up buying 2 Chubby Sticks AND got a foundation as well-if you have known me for longer than 30 days or are a reader of my blog, you will know the ‘foundation issues’ that I endure. I am always on the hunt for a new face base.
so here we go:
Let’s see those on skin:
I like these-especially the 07. I didn’t expect that which is why I got 06. These remind me of the Vasanti Tinted Lip Balms (of which I own several). They glide on easily and aren’t drying (better not be-it says moisturizing lip balm on the stick). These aren’t anything necessarily “new” but they are a good daily choice for me (for work) and the colors work for spring. I won’t be buying the entire collection but will probably swing by and pick up one more!
Okay the foundation….I have only been using it for 2 days so it may not be entirely ‘fair’ to review it so quickly.
Packaging:
“Perfect today, brighter tomorrow. makeup meets treatment with naturally luminous minterals to perfect and Vitamin C to restore a brighter tone over time. SPF helps guard against future damage. Apply prior to sun exposure.”
Sounds great doesn’t it? Well, I don’t know if all that is true being that I have used it for 2 days but I WILL say that this is just about a perfect match for my skin. That was one of my MAJOR complaints about MAC-every time I went to get a foundation, I would be a different color and usually the WRONG one!
Coverage on this is medium-and if you have oily skin like me, you WILL need a powder. I prefer a matte finish and I was told this is a ‘natural’ finish (so not completely matte). It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, another plus!
Clinique did me right on this visit! I may need to return sooner than later for more ummmm “research.” However, I still wish that they would come out with some “newer” more novel items.
What do you think about Clinique?

Glad you found a foundation that suits you this time! I actually haven’t tried any of those chubby sticks but they look oh so convenient for everyday wear!

Elaine….it suits me (for now). I am still “working in” the tinted moisturizer…..
The chubby sticks are convenient-I like the sheer color and the moisturizing aspect!

I haven’t tried those chubby sticks either, but they look great, and you picked out great shades!

Amelia-I think the strawberry is going to be my daily. I just love it!

I think the last time I went to Clinique was when Happy was released. Yup that long. Those sticks do look nice though.

I think a lot of people will echo that….that’s part of my ‘problem’ with Clinique. I feel like they haven’t “wow-ed” me since Happy-some re-branding is in order!
Paola
Well, this blog couldn’t have come at a better time for me. It’s been like forever since I last purchased any Clinique products. I used to be a big fan of their stuff but the same lack of “wow” factor distanced me from it. I was at Sephora about a week ago, and when I came across the Clinique section I stopped and checked their products out thinking… mmm… maybe I should give it a try to some of their “good old stuff”. So thanks! guess I’m not alone on this. Now I’m looking forward to my next Clinique visit 🙂

@Paola my sentiments exactly! I wish Clinique would invest in some awesome young marketing team and get with it!!
I must say though, the products are great…..so far.
