Weekend skincare!

I like to slow things down (a tad) and give myself a ‘break’ on the weekends. This includes my face.  I don’t consider myself an ‘abuser’ of my face but since I do love makeup, the weekends are a time to either use less or not wear it at all (if I can bear it).  I thought I would give you a peek into what I use to clean my face  on the weekends.

Let’s start with skincare:

1. Cleanser-The Body Shop’s Nutriganics foaming facial cleanser.

The Body Shop's Nutriganics Foaming Facial Cleanser

I have only been using this for about a week but so far I do like it. It’s gentle and gets the job done-removing makeup and dirt quickly.

2. Toner: Lush tea tree water

Lush Tea Tree Water

This product was brought to my attention by Paola, who did a guest post on it on my blog!  I like this-I mist it on after cleansing and let it sit.  It doesn’t make my skin feel tight and dry either.

3. Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh serum

Yes to blueberries

I didn’t know anything about serum until I read Kristen Ma’s (co-owner of Pure and Simple Spa) book, “Beauty, Pure and Simple.”  Since then I have been using it religiously. I tend to use the Pure and Simple Brand but ran out and needed a quick serum fix.  I found this product after doing some research (reading other blogs) and it seems to work well.

4. Jurlique Sun Lotion

Jurlique Sun Lotion SPF 30

This is a MUST for me now.  After being a ‘sun-child’ (hey it was the 80’s everyone was doing it) and a chronic tanner, the damage has shown up considerably on my face.  Since I now take better care of my mug (facials, microdermabrasion, peels)….I am religious with sunscreen application.  I got this lotion at Pure and Simple and although I love it, it was too much $ and I will probably never buy it again!

5.  Stila Tinted Moisturizer

Stila tinted moisturizer

Another product that I have done a blog post about is the Stila tinted moisturizer! I have to admit, it’s starting to grow on me, although I thought I would NEVER ever not have foundation on!  This has been my staple on weekends where I am just kind of hanging out.  If I do figure that I need more coverage, I go back in with a liquid foundation in specific spots.

And there you have it…the weekend routine!

What’s your skincare routine on the weekend?  Do anything special like masks?

Too bad the Jurlique is too pricey. If you ever come across a sun lotion good for your face (ie not oily), please let me know!!!!

Cherry-there are actually some great ones out there. One of these days we will walk around and I will point them out. Pure and Simple actually has their own brand but there are others that are just as good.

I have been indulging in a weekly masque of some kind, recently! When I am at Target or Ulta I will grab a cheap $1.99 (or less) masque, and on a Saturday or Sunday I will let myself enjoy it. I only have done it for two weeks in a row now, but I like the idea and will continue doing it. We will see if there is any difference in my skin from adding this into my routine, in a few months.
