L’Oreal Paris @ Luminato- VIP in full effect!

This was probably the BEST Friday I have ever had in a very long time.

I couldn’t have possibly started this post any sooner than now.   I got an email several days ago inviting me to a L’Oreal Paris event at Luminato.  I didn’t know what to make of it at first (since I had never received an email like that before) and after a couple of back and forths between sender and I, I decided to book an appointment 🙂

All I can say is WOW!  L’Oreal really knows how to roll out the red carpet.  First, let’s take a look at the L’Oreal Beauty Tent:

L'Oreal Beauty Tent-yes that is a line!

And some inside shots:

Loveliness inside the Beauty Tent

First, I met the lovely Margaret-who sent me the email that got me to the event in the first place:

Margaret and myself-all the hard work she was doing and look how great she looks!

I went to Eddie’s chair first for makeup!  In case you didn’t know….he is the official Makeup Artist for L’Oreal Paris in Canada!  He was completely awesome. I will try to limit the pictures, but it’s hard not to photograph his every move:

makeup makeup makeup!

What was in front of me....decisions, decisions!

Eddie working his magic

I love how he buffed the foundation into my skin with this brush-a true master!

These are talented hands people.....observe.

Orange lips-my first time!

And finally, the finished product….

Eddie and I in the 'after' shot!

I loved being able to chat with Eddie during makeup application. I asked him about his ‘pet peeve’ and he told me it was ‘too much bronzer.’  His philosophy about makeup is that ‘it’s for everyone and it gives a chance to experiment and play.  He also explained how important it is to highlight and contour (and showed me how to do it).   I like that he took chances with my eyes makeup and used colors that I wouldn’t have thought of!  And the lips…the bright orange lips…fantastic!  My makeup was absolutely flawless!

Did I mention that I was able to rock ORANGE LIPS?

I was then whisked off to Eric Del Monaco.  I have had ‘encounters’ with this gentleman prior, but this was my first one-on-one.  He is the Official Hair Artist and Colourist for L’Oreal Paris in Canada.  Another master of his craft, I will try to limit the pictures, but it’s so hard to but a limit on creative genius:

Hitting the hair with the *big* iron

Me asking a ton of questions (as usual)

Just gorgeous.....

And I will fast forward to the finished look:

That's a real smile.....

And finally:

Eric and I.... the "after"

During the styling, Eric and I chatted about everything from “taboo” practices (Shampoo-ing everyday? GASP) to use of products or “proper” use of products to ‘what one product is considered essential’ (his answer? Hairspray).  Eric stressed the importance of keeping your hair groomed and the fact that the right haircut will make the biggest difference! How true!  We also discussed the ‘ideal’ way to shampoo and  condition hair.  Fantastic!

Here was my ‘photographer’s’ favorite pic of the night:

I'll call this one- "waiting" lol

*Sigh* how great was that? But it wasn’t over yet…..let’s take a look at the swag bag(s):

New products literature in my bag!

inside of brochure-Eddie/Margaret wrote down all the products used on my face

Goodies from L'Oreal-love it!

In addition, my ‘photographer’ scored big as well:

Men's skincare from L'Oreal

Oh but it didn’t stop there….I went home and changed into my “going out” clothes and the camera kept flashing:

The back of my Eric Del Monaco coiff!

and then the whole ensemble:

head to toe-dress by bcbg, cardboard box by organic grocery delivery

I dare you to top my Friday! I had the best time ever!  I have to thank everyone at L’Oreal Paris for the awesome experience-especially Margaret, Eddie, and Eric!  The products were amazing-and I left armed with products and knowledge.  I can’t wait to try out the new stuff-and will be heading to the store for the new color care line of shampoo and conditioner from L’Oreal!  I could tell a lot of work went into this event-the artists were so passionate and professional and everyone treated me FAMOUSLY!!!

Huge thanks to L’Oreal Paris! <3 <3 <3 everything!

You look amazing !!! I’ve tried the new L’oreal hair products and I was very happy with them. Glad you had an amazing time!

    • meredith

Thanks Ande…I am still on Cloud 9. I haven’t looked that good in forever!

I was pleasantly suprised by the L’Oreal products-especially the eye shadows. Definitely adding those to my collection.

Have you tried the haircare? I have the mask but want to give the shampoo and conditioner a shot!

  • jillojello

Sounds like you have a great day. That orange looks great on you!

    • meredith

      It was incredible!
Thanks for your compliment-I honestly didn’t think I could pull off an orange.

Hey I have a question for you. In that pic that you had posted on twitter, where your hair was dark, you were wearing a bright lipstick…it was purpley..was it from Surf Baby? If no, what was it?

      • jillojello

oh now I will feel evil. I made the colour. I got tkb pigments and mixed it with gloss…but it was more straight pink I think the photo made it look more purple.

        • meredith

Jill, that isn’t evil, that’s talent!

  • BeautyReductionist

Wow! I’m totally jealous! I always end up ignoring Luminato for some reason. You look fabulous. 🙂

    • meredith

Thank you so much! I am glad I went-I felt so awesome after I was ‘made-over’

  • Justine

That event looked like a lot of fun, I walked past later in the night and saw the display, but was too shy to walk in, and didn’t know about it beforehand.

    • meredith

It was fun! You should have stopped!!!

  • Cherry

What a treat! I’m so glad you had such a fantastic time. I have the replenishing mask….I can’t wait to try it now! Again, I love that dress – it’s so classy! Amazing up-do….I wish I knew how to do that! The orange lipstick doesn’t come out orange! Was this by Metro Hall? I recognize the background!

P.S. I don’t think I can top your Friday. But can you top my Sunday?? =P

    • meredith

Cherry-in order for your Sunday to top mine, it would have to be a ‘level’ playing field. I have absolutely zero interest in riding a bike on a highway (and you know this)!

We’ll have to choose something in the same category….find some common ground.

However, I still hope you enjoy yourself tomorrow! Get some sleep!

      • Cherry

well said because otherwise, I can never compare any of my Fridays with your glamour.

        • meredith

I truly believe deep down …..there is a princess inside of you that is dying to come out!

  • Michelle(LipstickRules)

Gorgeous! Looked like an amazing time!

    • meredith

Thanks so much Michelle! I certainly had a wonderful time.

    • meredith

Tess, Thank you! I saw your L’Oreal wall photo and i just adored your hair!

Yes Margaret, Eddie, and Eric are all fantastic! What a great event! So glad I had the opportunity to attend!

  • ElaineA

Holy, hot, hot, hot!!!!! You look amazing Meredith!!! Well you always look great, but you look EXTRA great in these pictures and all dolled up! I hope your husband and you had a fun night on the town!!!! So nice that he got some swag too 🙂

    • meredith

      Elaine-thanks so much!
I saw the pics you had on twitter-did they photograph you in front of the L’Oreal wall? I couldn’t see your hair!!!

Did you have a good time?

  • Mama Dukes

Wow! The pictures say it all-they did a great job and it seems like you appreciated it. Nice that hubby went along, too.

    • meredith

I had such a good time-I have over 150 pictures from the event. I may post a follow up because of alllll the other photos.
