Lou Lou Shop till you drop Toronto 2011!

Gosh, I love a good shopcrawl!  Haven’t been on one since 2009!  So when I saw the Lou Lou Shop till you Drop event advertised, I signed up and RSVP’d to every event!

It was kind of a bummer that it was raining (at times pretty hard too) during most of the event but that didn’t stop the huge Toronto crowd! There were discounts, hors d’oeuvres and special offers at every participating store.

I so wanted to get photos but couldn’t hold all of my things and take pictures.  In some of the stores, there were so many people, I could barely move.  However, what I liked is that the women at the event seemed to know that we were all there to shop and enjoy-and that’s what we did! I didn’t hear anyone complaining or acting like a diva.  How refreshing!

So here are the photos of the items I picked up at the event and the gift with purchase items as well as some free swag. Lou lou did a great job at keeping this event as organized as they could-and I am sure they are happy with the response and turnout!

*Had it not been raining, I would’ve stayed longer…..

One of the stores I especially appreciated was Jacob.  I regret not buying the amazing floral dress that Coco Rocha is wearing in their Fall 2011 ad campaign, especially since I would’ve gotten it for 25% off.  I did however purchase a new black cardigan since mine (all 2 of them) are about to bite the dust.

The other thing I so loved about Jacob-they had a candy bar!  It was super cute-you had someone escort you around different bulk candy jars and they would scoop candy into a cute little take-out box for you.  What a fantastic idea!

I also spent some time in Sephora (surprise, surprise, eh) where I was treated to Champagne and hors d’oeuvres.  I purchased 2 makeup brushes (a crease brush and an angled eyeliner brush) and some facial water.  Of course, Sephora had some great swag as well.

And finally, a copy of Lou Lou to browse through:

I wish I had been able to stay longer to attend the after party event but as luck would have it, I am a victim of my office’s latest ‘illness.’ Just a cold, but still enough to keep me from enjoying the late night events!

Huge thanks to LouLou magazine and all the participating stores in Shop Till You Drop 2011.  I am sure this event required months of pre-planning and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears! This was a great idea and I hope there are more in the future!  If I was rich, I would be flying to Montreal to attend their Shop Till You Drop Event tonight!

Have you ever been to this type of event? Did you enjoy it?

p.s. Shout outs to the @DermalogicaCDN girls inside Banana Republic.  They were drawing quite the crowd with their skin bar!

What a fun name for an event. Too bad the Jacobs downstairs isn’t as fun. Looks like you had lots of good purchases.
Sorry about the cold. Really hope you get better, esp since I’d be missing my Latte buddy tomorrow 😥 Come back soon!!!

@Cherry I am not experiencing the nasal symptoms….just had a fever and sore throat. Although Joyce told me that’s how it started with her. Anyway, I have been pushing fluids all day, fever is gone-sniffles are dried up with medicine so it’s just sore throat and some ear pain.
I’ll be in tomorrow! I have an idea of where to go!

@Cherry the event was fun! You should’ve come-there were so many things going on. Discounts and opportunities to win great prizes!! Plus lots of swag. I can’t imagine how much planning went into this….

@Tamara it was a good time…I wish I had been able to stay for the entire event. I think I am going to power through this cold so it can’t get the best of me.

Love the cardi and all the great SWAG!!!! I totally know which floral dress you’re talking about – I bought the blouse and I love it!!!! 😉

@Liz-I saw someone wearing that blouse and I love it as well….the dress continues to call my name. I will keep a close eye on it and see if I can snag it soon.

Ahh looks so fun! That skin bar sounds awesome!

My mom just went to a wedding last weekend and she brought home candy from a candy bar in the same type of box LOL!

@Elaine-I so loved the candy bar! It reminded me of Dylan’s candy bar in NYC. The skin bar was really cool too!

    Hi!

Are you going to go to the event again this year (i.e. tomorrow). Are there any tips you can give to first timers? I want to make the most out of the event and get as many goodies as possible!

    • meredith

@EeeTee unfortunately I am not going this year as I am out of the country on vacation. I wanted to cry when I saw the date!! What I recommend is checking out the Shop Til you Drop website and checking out the stores involved. I always get the things that I ‘want’ first then loop around and go to the other stores. It’s always a great time-and there are so many great gifts/deals. Have fun!
