High Brow is one of three workshops that I will be attending hosted by the one and only, the fabulous, the famous Blush Pretty
This particular workshop was lead by Donna Marie (who I had the opportunity to meet at the last Beauty Board). I love Donna’s look so I was super excited to hear what she had to say about brows. I have had such a hard time with my own brows and have noticed that whenever I have my makeup done, the MUA will always ask “Do you work on your brows at home? Ever?”
Yikes!
So Donna started off with a handout that described some of the things she would be instructing us on. First was identifying our face shape-apparently I am an ‘oval’. I would call myself a round but no! Then it was on to looking at the ideal shape of the brow based on the face type.
Then we got down to business…..drawing lines, where to have an arch, where to tweeze, what kind of product to use on the brow, how to highlight. Phew. It was sure a lot of learning for a Thursday night but boy did I have fun! Let’s look at some photos:
Donna went around to each ‘student’ and (using the product we had brought with us) filled in one brow. Then we had to repeat what she did on the other! It was tough and I really had to pay attention!
Donna Marie also talked about the importance of highlighting….she used this pencil on Rebecca:
So let’s just say I had a great time with my brows this evening…met some great peeps, munched & noshed and finally used my brow kit! Go High Brow!
What’s YOUR brow routine?
P.S. If you are in Ontario and want to take some workshops and get your LEARN ON beauty wise, then you need to check out this lineup. Huge thanks/shout-outs to Stephanie, Donna Marie, Rebecca! Good times!

Looks like the workshop was a good time. I wish I attended. My eyebrow tech left her post at Benefit Brow Bar at Holt Renfrew and her new location is not that accessible now. Hopefully I’ll be able to attend one of the other workshops. Thanks for sharing your experience at the first beauty workshop.

@Leesh it certainly was a good time! I learned quite a bit and am going to pick up a brow highlighter asap!

Meredith – love your eyebrows. Donna Maria did a excellent job shaping your brows to your face. I would like to visit Blush Pretty.to learn the techniques. Thanks for the pics.
meredith
@Sharlene Thanks! I have a link at the bottom of the post that will allow you to see the workshop schedule-there may not be another eyebrow workshop but there are a ton of other options that are awesome!
Thank you for your comment!

hmm i was thinking of going to this but wasn’t sure if they deal with over-zealous eyebrows! i know some people struggle with sparse brows but i have the opposite – mine are too thick! anyway, your brows look beautiful.
my brow routine: i have to trim and pluck/groom on the regular otherwise i look like chewbacca. for serious. it’s not even funny 🙁
meredith
@kathy oh this would’ve been perfect for you!!! I hope that you will look at some of the other workshops coming up. It’s a great chance to really get up close and personal with some great makeup artists and learn!
My routine prior to the workshop was pluck strays (maybe). Now I am going to make a conscious effort to do my brows. They look sooooo good in the photo-and I owe it all to Donna Marie!
Donna Marie
Awesome awesome post Meredith! I’m glad you like my “look” what ever that is! haha But I’m glad you enjoyed and learned a lot from the workshop. It was really fun and I’m glad I got to know you gals! Hope you see you again soon! 🙂

@Donna Marie I have to say that the workshop was fantastic. I learned so much!
