spontaneous chic-my cut at hair n after!

My impulsive/spontaneous side is both a blessing and a curse.

Today it was a blessing as I discovered a ‘hidden gem’ salon a hop, skip, and a jump away!

I was sitting at Crepe it up (window table) with my other half, sipping on a lovely fair trade organic roast when my eyes drifted upwards to a sign advertising an “introductory offer” for hair n after.  So after finishing the coffee, I decided to take a skip across the street.

After heading upstairs, I was greeted by Avery, the salon owner.   I asked about the special on the sign and she told me that while the special was still valid, it was only a Tuesday-Friday.  However, she did offer to take 20% off of my cut if I wanted to have it today.  I figured what the heck, I’ll make an appointment and come back….but she told me that she had someone available at that moment.

Awesome!  It must have been a sign!!

My stylist was Dylan.  He gave me a very thorough consultation and went through my hair to assess it’s condition.  He made suggestions, which I was open to and off we went!

My 'before' shot.....

So first gold star for thorough consultation.

Next gold star for fantastic shampoo, scalp massage and condition.

That’s one of my biggest ‘pet peeves’ is being rushed through a shampoo.  Not only was the shampoo & condition heavenly….the scalp massage was to – die- for!

Then we got down to the cut-there was some chit chat and some discussion about the cut itself.  Dylan explained every step of the way to include the products he was using (Kevin Murphy-one of my favorite product lines EVER). He applied some serum and then we got down to business with the blow dry.

Another gold star for beautiful blow dry.  Another pet peeve of mine….poor finishing skills.  Didn’t have to worry about that with Dylan.  He sectioned and round brushed my tresses to perfection!  After drying, he worked on the front of my hair-adding texture and taking some of the “bulk” out of my hair.  He also showed me how to use volumizing powder-BONUS!

So before I show you my ‘after’ shot-lets take a look at the space.  I would classify it as “just right”-not pretentious, frou frou or chi chi but not sloppy either.  It’s neat, organized and tidy with touches/splashes of creative.

lounge area-so inviting!

so here are the ‘after’ shots… simply put, I love my new cut!

and from the side.....

I have to say I will be back!  Hair n after is in a great spot (right at Church and Wellesley) and the stylists are bang on! Prices are amazing to boot!

Recommend, recommend, recommend!
