Everpure Evercream Cleansing Conditioner by L’Oréal!

I first read about this product on Nouveau Cheap’s blog and was interested in trying it.  The only other product similar (as far as I know) is wen, which is sold on infomercials/the shopping channel.  I only recently found about ‘no poo’ girls-my friend Jill is one of them (read her blog post here about her routine).

Let me tell you why I wanted to give L’Oréal Evercreme cleansing conditioner a try.

I feel guilty when I wash my hair.  Weird, right? Princess problems, right?  Allow me to explain.  I’m a blonde naturally but lighten my hair-I’m on a pretty strict maintenance schedule in order to keep my hair in good condition.  I don’t wash my hair everyday and I wash with salon products (sulfate free, color protection shampoos and conditioners).  But for some reason, I still feel my hair is ‘suffering’ when I wash it.  I feel like it’s screaming for help when I lather up.  I wrap my hair in a hair towel that absorbs moisture to cut drying time and use a thermal protectant and professional hairdryer.  I mask once a week and use a raspberry-vinegar rinse weekly as well.

Perhaps I am over thinking that with the routine I just listed. I just feel like I could be kinder and gentler to my hair.  That’s why I decided to try this product.

I have to say I agree with Nouveau Cheap about the pump dispenser.  If you like standing in the shower for several minutes pumping this product into your hand, then keep the pump on the bottle. Otherwise, take the pump off the bottle and dump the product into your hand.

I massaged the product into my hair and kept it on for 2 minutes.  The directions state that there isn’t any need to use conditioner, so I didn’t.

I have to say I like this product.  My hair feels soft and silky.  My scalp feels clean but not itchy or tight.  I used a thermal protectant and dried my hair afterwards.

I’m going to use this when I know I shouldn’t wash my hair but maybe have an event to attend or need freshening up.  I feel like it doesn’t damage my hair and there’s no guilt!

What’s your shampoo routine? Are you an everyday gal? Dry shampoo fan?  How many times a week do you wash your hair?
