I wanted to like you, Vidal Sassoon Color Finity Dry Shampoo #beautyunited

*Please note-currently, this story does not have a happy ending!*

I am a dry shampoo SUPER FAN.  I haven’t washed my hair daily in almost 10 years-I do a lot of coloring & heat styling. I rely on products like dry shampoo, especially after my workouts.  Some are better than others….but almost all of the ones I’ve tried are better than this one.

Here’s the product info:

dry shampoo

VS Colorfinity Dry Shampoo Spray cleanses without washing and refreshes the look of your blonde colored hair – all in 1 step! Our formula with lightweight refreshers was developed by VS color experts and helps eliminate unwanted oils from hair, without washing out color pigments – leaving no excess residue.

So my problem isn’t with the formula.  I used it, it has a pleasant scent and absorbs oil quite well.  I didn’t get a white cast either.

So what’s the issue you’re saying by now, right?

Well, I was able to use this product a total of once.  After using it the first time, the pump jammed.  I tried every trick in the book to unclog it, and it still won’t budge. On top of that, it must have leaked because when I shake the container, it feels like there is approximately 1/3 of the product remaining.  YIKES.

So unfortunately, I can’t recommend this product since I was only able to use it once.  If anyone has any tips as to how I can un-clog this, I’m open to them!

Maybe they’ll send a replacement product??

@Kelly *shrugs* I don’t know if that will help. What if that pump jams? I’ve only had this problem with one other brand-and it was a high end brand. They did send me a replacement. And it did the same thing. Again and again and again. I just won’t rave about something if I was only able to use it ONCE. Do you have any tips about unjamming?

The only thing I can think of is running warm water around it and twisting it from side to side…It may have been that the product hardened. But since it feels like it’s 1/3 full, I would say there’s a technical difficulty.

I seem to have issues with every pump/aerosol dry shampoo…they either jam, or last for max 3 uses. That’s why I love my Oscar Blandi pronto 🙂

    Yup, technical difficulties

I hate when that happens. The propellant leaks and then you have an empty can. I have had this happen with even high end dry shampoo. I have been looking into some DIY recipes. Thought I might give them a try. The Oscar Blandi is pretty much the same thing. It’s either rice starch or corn start in a plastic bottle. I have read you can use cocoa powder with the starch to avoid the white cast. Don’t know if I really want to smell like cocoa though. Hugs to those pups of your -Sue
