Forever young-hair edition! Live Clean Age Resist haircare!

*I received this product for review*

I won’t deny that I am ALL about anti-aging products, especially after the recent passing of my 40th year on this wonderful planet of ours.  I’ve tried one other anti-aging haircare system (from Pantene, called Age Defy) and was impressed by everything except the price.

Live Clean Age Resist consists of 4 products that address the issues of aging hair.

The Claims:

§  Age Resist Shampoo is gentle – it won’t strip colour treated hair

§  Age Resist Conditioner contains a new natural silicone alternative

§  Age Resist Multi 10 in 1 Treatment – it’s magic! One pump is all you need and apply it on towel-dried, still damp hair. Can be used daily!

§  Age Resist Miracle Nutrition Oil – this is the big gun – it’s the perfect once a week treatment and very beneficial right now when cold temperatures, dry air and hair tools have taken all the moisture from your hair

My Thoughts:

I’ve been using this consistently for about 3 weeks now. I like to use shampoo, conditioners and styling products/treatments for that long BECAUSE I feel like it takes that long to see any type of result.  I like this shampoo & conditioner. It’s got a pleasant, light fragrance (smells like plants/forest to me).  It lathers nicely, rinses out clean, and doesn’t leave my scalp itchy.

My stand out product is the 10 in 1,which I use every time I wash my hair (4 times a week for me).  It reminds me VERY much of Pantene’s BB cream for hair, which I also like very much!

The Miracle Oil is good-I use that once a week, usually on Friday night. I don’t tend to wash my hair at all on the weekends unless I am going out.  The ‘down time’ for my hair gives this product time to penetrate and nourish the root of my hair.

Did this product stop my hair from aging?  That is yet to be seen but I did like the way my hair felt after using the system.  It’s friendly to the environment AND the wallet with products ranging from $8.99-$11.99.

L’Oreal Paris Pore Vanisher-WOWEE WOW WOW I love this!

I’m a seasoned primer user and had been hearing SO SO much about the L’Oreal Paris pore vanisher from all sorts of people. It’s all over social media too….

porevanisher

Here’s what’s on the package:

What is Pore Vanisher™?

Pore Vanisher™ is a fresh, airy cream that instantly minimizes the look of pores and shrinks actual pore size in 1 month.

How does it work?

Pore Vanisher™ works on three dimensions to shrink pores: depth*, number and size. Instantly pores appear virtually vanished and skin feels hydrated. Perlite absorbs excess oil for an all-day, shine free, smooth finish. In one day LHA micro-exfoliates to visibly smooth skin’s surface. In one month pores begin to snap back into shape as our highest concentration of Perline-P strengthens and tightens pore walls to shrink actual pore size.

When Should I Use It?

Apply as the last step in your skincare regimen, AM and PM. Can be used alone or under makeup.

Recommended Regimen:

STEP 1: CLEANSE L’Oréal Paris Cleanser
STEP 2: TREAT Texture Perfector Serum Concentrate
STEP 3: MOISTURIZE Texture Perfector Day/Night Cream
STEP 4: FINISH Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher™ Cream

I’ve been using this for awhile now.  It’s awesome.  I like it for several reasons:

-I like that this absorbs quickly and is more ‘gel-like’ than liquid

-I love the texture of my skin after I apply it

-This product is oil free

-It makes my makeup SO MUCH EASIER to apply

-I don’t really need any foundation after applying it

-It ‘plays well’ with most of the products I’ve used it in combination with

-It doesn’t break me out!

This product is going to stay in my makeup basket until it is G-O-N-E, GONE.  Yup,  I like it that much….yes, I do.

One question-can anyone tell me whether this is similar to Benefit’s porefessional? I don’t use Benefit products…..

Would you try this?

#beautyunited Spring/Summer 2014 -looks!

*This is a #beautyunited post*
If you have picked up a fashion magazine, watched a commercial, or even passed by a billboard, 2014 fashion trends are EVERYWHERE! I was thumbing through one of my favorite magazines, Elle Canada and was inspired to recreate some of the looks from Covergirl and Olay.

The look that caught my eye the most was the Gilded Glory…..

So I watched this video to see how to put it together (sans the hairstyle since my hair is now short):

I really enjoyed the bombshell shine shadows and am hoping to put them into my permanent rotation. You already know how I feel about the CC cream. The jumbo gloss balm in Jam Twist was an instant favorite of mine!

on the eyes:

Covergirl Balmshell Shine Shadow in Gold Goddess

Covergirl Balmshell Shine Shadow in Color Me Money

Covergirl Balmshell Shine Shadow in Copper Flair

on the lips:

Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Jam Twist

on the face:

Olay Total effects CC cream

My only question is-where are all the models with short hair? Seriously, everyone is cutting their hair short (Coco Rocha recently cut her hair VERY short).

Take a minute to browse the different looks-What do you think of the looks? I like that they are wearable and don’t involve a lot of products. These looks are kind to the wallet too!

Addicted to all things pretty-The Luxe Oil that you need to know about!

I like oils for face and body. It’s that simple.

I chat with a lot of people on twitter. one of the lovelies I chat with (I discovered) has a line of oils for face, body, hair-I suppose they could be called “multi-purpose.”  I had to get my hands on some of this.

All of the products interested me but I restrained myself and purchased the LUXE oil (and yes, I asked for recommendations of what to buy before purchasing).

Here’s what the website says:

Not only only does LUXE OIL moisturize and nourish the skin but it also has healing properties and helps clear blemishes as well as scarring from small wounds, cuts, and burns and eczema. Some have reported a reduction of fine lines and wrinkles… just another benefit of LUXE OIL. With continued use you’ll see improvements in your skin.

How to use:
LUXE OIL is a very versatile oil that can be used many ways. One primary use is as an in-shower moisturizer with 1-3 pumps into a well lathered towel or body sponge. The amount needed varies since some use body soaps that are harsher than others, and some of us use soaps that are free of sulfates and detergents.  You can also use it on damp skin fresh out the shower as you would a regular body oil. Other great uses include; hair oil to seal moisture, cuticle oil, and face moisturizer.

Instructions:

– In-Shower Moisturizer
Add 1-3 pumps (more if you’re using the treatment pump that dispenses less product) into a well-lathered towel or body sponge
Wash as usual
Rinse
Pat dry with dry towel or prance around… allow the oils to absorb

– Body Moisturizer
Apply all over
Prance around… allow the oils to absorb

Ingredients:
Coconut Oil
Safflower Oil
Sea-buckthorn Oil
Avocado Oil
Olive Oil
(optional) Fragrance

There are many choices of fragrance for the oil as well as having the choice to skip fragrance!  Please see the website for a description of fragrances (there are SO many).  I chose ‘Scorned Nymph’ which includes notes of juicy plum and frankincense.  I describe it as a fruity scent with a warm, spicy, exotic finish…it kind of creeps up on you.

How do I use it LUXE oil?

I listed the ways to use the product above but my FAVORITE way to use it is fresh out of the shower-I pat myself with a towel so my skin is so damp, and apply luxe oil to trap moisture in my skin.  I know the instructions say to prance around.  Maybe I do and maybe I don’t. I’ll leave that to your imagination.  If you know me at all, you know I probably prance. It absorbs fairly quickly but I would give it a solid 2-3 minutes before putting clothes on.

I ALSO use it on my scalp the night before I wash my hair.  I know that there is some minor controversy regarding oiling the scalp but I find it incredibly beneficial-after all, that is the root of your hair, why not nourish it?

Overall thoughts

I know there are a lot of oils on the market. I’ve tried a lot of the oils on the market. Why do I like this one so much? It’s made with ingredients I can pronounce-there are many ways to use it, the scent is intoxicating, and someone I know makes this product.  All great reasons.  LUXE oil is definitely worth checking out-and it’s offered in several different sizes so it will fit into your budget.  Also please note, there are face oils, bath salts, scalp oils, and shea butter too!
