BIG sea salt shampoo from LUSH

My hair is fine in texture.   I have a lot of hair-but it’s flat.  I can get it big and voluminous with a lot of different products and some styling tools.  I added this shampoo to my repetoire as one more step towards ‘going BIG’

Body-building shampoo for BIG hair and loads of shine

Over half the base of Big shampoo is made with sea salt, giving massive volume to hair in need of a boost. Sea salt is also full of minerals and de-greases hair, removing dead skin cells and dirt without stripping natural oils for a fresh, squeaky clean feeling. We balance the sea salt with seaweed infusion and extra virgin coconut oil for soft, nourished locks. Finally, fresh citrus juices are squeezed in for incredible shine.

My thoughts:

This is a shampoo you have to get used to.  It is granular and that can feel a bit ummmm ‘different’  than a standard shampoo. I scoop it out with my hands and massage it into my scalp.  Once you get it into your hair, it will lather (not a ton but it will). I usually work it in from root to about halfway down my head, and then let the shampoo trickle down to the ends.  I follow that up with veganese conditioner (another post coming on that eventually) which is light but provides enough moisture that my hair isn’t static.  Then it’s off to the races with a volumizing mousse or a texture spray (let me know if you are interested in seeing/reading about what hair products I use!).

I like this shampoo-it’s different and leaves my hair feeling clean and refreshed.  It’s more than I would like to pay for it, but the results are good so I’ll pay it once in awhile.  If you’re craving volume, it’s best to start with a clean scalp and hair-try this one out!

Valentine’s Day-are you ready?

Honestly? My significant other and I don’t really exchange gifts on V-day. There are several reasons for it, mainly that, we have Christmas, then his birthday, then mine, then our anniversary (don’t give gifts there either) 2 days prior to the 14th.  That’s a lot of gifting.

Ballet. As an adult.

Yes you read that right.  I am stepping out of my comfy little box and out from behind my screen.  And trying.  There will be more to come on this later, but for now I’ll leave you with some inspiration ….and my feet.

Pantene has announced the world’s top digital fashion icon and international trendsetter, Chiara Ferragni as the new face – and hair – for the brand.

A bona fide fashion star with over 5 million Instagram followers, Chiara is now ready to make her mark in beauty with Pantene. “I’m obsessed with my hair! I’ve always felt that when I have beautiful hair, I look and feel more beautiful – and stronger. When I was a teenager, I was fascinated by Pantene’s gorgeous ads and when I started travelling frequently I trusted it to look after my hair. So I’m thrilled to be Pantene’s latest ambassador because healthy hair helps me look and feel stronger and more beautiful.”

Commenting on the decision to recruit arguably the biggest phenomenon in the online style-sphere to front the global mega-brand, Layal Ammar, Pantene Brand Director, says: “We’re thrilled to announce the collaboration between the world’s top digital fashion icon and the world’s #1 haircare brand.   Chiara is the epitome of the modern day woman with very demanding hair needs – she is constantly styling  her hair, yet her hair is always immaculate. This is because Chiara’s choice is Pantene – she has been using the brand since she was a teen – and now we have joined forces to tell the world about her hair care secrets.”

I’m excited to see what Chiara will bring to the world of Pantene-she obviously has GREAT hair!  What do you think?
