I have combination skin (oily in the T-zone, normal everywhere else) that likes to throw me curve balls throughout the year as the seasons change. Since winter has decided to extend into April (as I write this, the snowflakes are coming down), I need to stay on top of moisturizing my face (which is always somewhat exposed on my commute/walk into work). Priming my T-zone area is pretty much a given in my case, but I frequently change primers-depending on what I’m doing. If I have an event, I will often use a silicone based primer (the ones with the jelly-like texture). For everyday, I tend to use a ‘lighter’ primer, and sometimes I’ll even use 2-one pore minimizer on my T-zone, and a hydrating primer everywhere else. I have tried the Too Faced Hangover Rx primer which is …..okay. It’s expensive. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this Hard Candy Sheer Envy Coconut Hydrating Prime and Refresh Mist is their ‘response’ to Too Faced Hangover Rx. I’ve been using this for several months and have an opinion and some thoughts, which you’re more than welcome to read below. By the way, don’t write off Hard Candy products because they are sold in Walmart-the brand has some real ‘winners.’

I’m a huge fan of coconut and can’t wait to give this a try! What about you?
A beautiful mess-getting dirty to get clean, with Jealous body scrub!
Body scrubs have been a ‘thing’ with me for a minute now…..
But I won’t use just ANY scrub. I’m actually not a fan of what I would call a “straight” scrub. What I mean by ‘straight’ is a scrub that just strips and doesn’t hydrate. Those are great at times and have their own place. Just not in my shower.
My favorite scrubs are the ones that offer an exfoliation AND some hydration. I haven’t found a whole lot of those types-I can count on one hand the brands I’ve come across. Jealous body scrub is in this category and I’m sure you already know this review is positively GLOWING!
Jealous body scrub is a COFFEE scrub-here’s the details, directly from their website:
- coffee grounds stimulate blood flow which help reduce the appearance of cellulite, eczema, stretch marks, age spots, varicose veins, psoriasis & acne
- brown sugar & sea salt exfoliate and rejuvenate your skin
- cold pressed organic coconut oil hydrates & moisturizes your skin
- vitamin E & minerals protect and repair your skin
My thoughts:
- A+ for packaging and marketing-the marketer in me screams for joy and does cartwheels over the eco-friendly, resealable packaging that is efficient in both design and with the amount of verbiage on it.
- If you love coffee, you will LOVE the scent of this scrub because that’s exactly what it is! It is actual grounds in look and fragrance and texture.
- The scrub DOES what it says it is going to do-stimulate, rejuvenute, and hydrate. Just keep in mind, this is going to be on you for 5-10 minutes. My suggestion/tip/trick? Do the jealous when you masque your hair (and if you’re not masque-ing your hair, why the hell aren’t you? DO IT!!! It’s good for your hair!).
- The other tip/trick/suggestion I will offer up is to use the jealous when your tub/shower is in need of a thorough clean. Because this is a coffee ground product, be prepared. It gets EVERYWHERE and I mean everywhere. However, let’s be optimistic-you will have a hydrated body AND a sparkling clean shower after you get through!
- The social media team (or individual) at jealous also is quite clever -see some of their work here. This motivates me to want to be healthier after seeing all these bikini-clad model types prancing around in the sun!
jealous body scrub is a winner to me-I suggest you try it too!
Review-Epic Blend Premium lip balm
*This post contains products sent for review. I like to state that first out of respect for my readers. This doesn’t change my opinion of the products.*
Shameless plug: I actually had a giveaway for an entire set of these lip balms that I first mentioned on my YouTube channel. It’s closed now but just in case, you may want to check over there-I tend to give my subscribers a “heads-up” when the giveaways come around!
I have extremely dry lips. ALL. THE. TIME. I’ll cut right to the chase when I tell you that this product is heaven-sent.
Epic Blend uses natural ingredients without synthetics….which is a huge + for me. I hate hate HATE using petroleum based lip balm (and before you all slam me for using lipsticks, glosses with chemicals, hear me out). I like to use the most moisturizing natural products the closest to my skin….this product is amazing to wear on its own when you’re out in the ‘weather’, or even as your base before you apply your other lip products. It GLIDES on and the flavors are fun!
Epic has 3 different ‘categories’ of balms:
Hemp: Organic Hemp Seed Oil is a great anti-oxidant, super nourishing and quickly absorbs deep into the skin cells.
More Moisture: Seven moisturizers, including Organic Shea Butter come together to provide an extra kick of moisture plus a boost of staying power.
Vegan: 100% plant-based and beeswax-free. Candelilla wax is used in these balms, giving them a smooth texture.
The formulas:
-Nutrient dense natural and organic ingredients that improve skin’s health
-Petroleum free, Gluten free and non GMO
-Not tested on animals
-Natural flavors
Sounds good to me, right? I’ve been using these and loving them. And so has my other half, who was a devout Carmex user…..and fyi, there is an unflavored version if you aren’t into all that.
Try these out-you won’t be disappointed in this *Epic* Canadian company (see what I did there?)
