I’ll get straight to it-this was part of Revlon’s #Dare to Wear and in my case, it was dare to wear……blue.

Marcelle was one of the very first Canadian cosmetics brands I was introduced to. I’ve been using it for almost the entire time I’ve been in Canada (just over 5 years). Marcelle also offers skin care but I am out of most of that at the moment so I’ll have to save it for another post.
I’ll have to start with my Marcelle BB, CC, and now DD creams which I’m in love with! I had heard of BB creams before because I was stationed in South Korea for 2 years while serving in the U.S. Army. When Marcelle revealed their BB cream, I was definitely impressed. It had the coverage of an “Asian” BB, without the typical grey cast.
I have a review posted (or will have one shortly posted) about this CC cream so I won’t go into too much detail here only to say that I am enjoying using this product. It’s infused with 24k gold and glides on the skin. It’s also supposed to reduce the appearance of dark spots, a big selling point with me due to my hyperpigmentation.
Imagine my surprise when I walked into my local rexall and saw this on the Marcelle display. Had no idea it was coming out, didn’t know what to think of it. So I tried it out at the store and was immediately sold. Great coverage, with broad spectrum protection from UVB rays? Sold! Look for an upcoming blog post on this product.
Just the color of this pencil made my mouth water….and I was even more pleased with the creamy application. This is a waterproof pencil however, it is so easy to blend and is so intensely pigmented. What more could a girl ask for? Oh how about 16 different shades?
You know how I feel about the twisty Dalton cosmetics mascara…..well, this version from Marcelle (Twist-push-up) is quite a bit different. This wand was designed to literally ‘push-up’ your lashes. Don’t believe me? Give it a try…then twist the brush to pull the bristles together, and apply a 2nd coat for volume. It’s really not too good to be true….it works. Brilliant!
Not sure if this is available (yet) as it was sent to me for review but boy oh boy, ladies-get your hands on one of these crayons as soon as your can. This is also a twist up and the color you see in the photo is what you are going to get on your lips. If you like high pigment/color payoff and easy, hydrating application, this ones for you. I love a good red lip but hate the process with the lip liner, the color, the powder blot. This is a product that will go easily into any handbag, even the smallest clutch so touch-ups aren’t so tedious.
If you haven’t tried Marcelle, you should! Enough said!

Just in case you’re not familiar with IT cosmetics-and some people aren’t….here’s a snippet or two from their website:
IT Cosmetics® works with leading plastic surgeons to infuse cutting edge anti-aging technology into truly innovative, high performance color cosmetics. A favorite line of both celebrities and beauty editors, IT Cosmetics has several award-winning products and has been featured in hundreds of leading magazines and television shows.
I’ve decided to really look ‘within’ …….my stash that is. I’m going to be attempting a new series on my blog with the above title. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post once a week with favorites from a particular brand. That’s certainly the idea anyway. I thought I would kick things off with L’Oréal Paris since I have tried a wide range of their products and skin care.
Look what I did on MY lunch break today!!
oh Glymm-how you’ve swindled and scammed your subscribers so……

A lovely email recently landed in my inbox and I had to share-for all my sisters that are still feeling the sting of Glymm-

GAH!

L’Oreal Paris sent me this mascara for review….I am not paid to review! My opinion is mine, I own it!
This mascara is a cult favorite for a reason. I won’t say too much about it other than I absolutely loved it. It’s a performance based love:
A great big brush and formula that delivers:
Results? Nothing but gorgeous….
I will be descending upon my local HG drugstores and Walmart scouring the shelves for the waterproof version of this…is there such an item? That’s my only “con” -that it isn’t waterproof!
I purchased this mascara with my own funds and am not compensated to like or hate it!
Wow. Can’t believe I didn’t post about the 2nd week results. I thought that was kind of weird when I saw a lot of photos in my camera. Usually I snap a pic, import and delete!
Yikes! So a mark against me then. I will have to go back and do a post about week 2….which was the carbon black voluminous. geeeeez.
In the meantime, here is week 3 results. I actually threw away the package for this mascara and have no idea what this mascara is called. Either way, I was NOT impressed. L’Oreal, I expected more…..
This is my first waterproof mascara from L’Oreal. My favorite waterproof at the moment is Essence 24h stays no matter what but I won’t get too much into that as I have gone on and on about it already several times. I just didn’t appreciate this mascara.
The packaging is “Classic L’Oreal” and the brush is a bit of the same. I did notice upon first opening the product, that it was a bit clumpy on the brush.
I wanted to like this mascara so much! L’Oreal makes great mascaras, but this is a ‘miss’ for me. Why, you ask?
Well…..
1. Putting it on required a ton of effort for less than stellar results
2. Tons of transfer on my browbone
3. In order to get my lashes the deepest darkest black , I would most likely have to apply the entire tube.
It just wouldn’t apply properly for me-look at that application!
SAD FACE.
Suffice it to say that I do not recommend this mascara, whatever it’s called…..
Next up? Voluminous False Fiber mascara-and I’m not a fan of fiber mascaras either so I’m not expecting this to bode well.
Check me out!
This week was incredibly challenging for me. First full week at a new job and some other ‘daily’ struggles:
