Treat Yo-self….with skin treats from fresh!!! Bonus-anti aging recipe for the hands!

When I hear about the brand fresh what immediately springs to mind is the fresh lip scrubs and lip tints (of which I have several and gift them on the regular). I know so many people that have at least 1 of these in their purse, bag, jean pocket, or hand.  I never associated the brand with skincare.  After doing a bit of ‘investigation’ with my bestie Google….. the brand has so much history-and surprisingly their skincare was developed BEFORE my beloved lip products.

I’m really into my skin….and I take my skincare seriously.  I have a fairly “involved” daily routine but absolutely love indulging in a luxurious mask or giving myself a nice scrub.  Especially when the products are natural, and smell amazing.   Take a look:

sugarfacepolish

Sugar Face Polish: A nourishing exfoliant made with pure brown sugar and strawberry seeds that refines and hydrates for a more radiant complexion.

  • Brown sugar, a natural humectant that seals in moisture, gently buffs away dry, dull skin.
  • Real wild strawberries, packed with vitamin C, help to brighten and soothe.
  • Plum seed oil and grapeseed oil are notable for their hydrating and nourishing properties

rose face cream

Rose Face Mask:  A unique gel formula infused with real rose petals and pure rosewater that hydrates and tones the complexion.

  • Pure rosewater is notable for its soothing and toning properties.
  • Cucumber extract and aloe vera gel help soothe the skin and have an immediate cooling and calming effect.
  • Porphyridium cruentum, a “smart” algae, delivers optimum moisture.
  • Antioxidant-rich green tea helps to brighten and protect.

blacktea

Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask: A hydrating treatment that immediately reveals softer, firmer, healthier-looking skin.

  • Black tea ferment is an advanced antioxidant that helps to defend against wrinkle-causing free radicals** while softening, smoothing, and enhancing luster.
  • Lychee seed extract helps maintain the skin’s elasticity.
  • Polysaccharides help to smooth the skin.
  • Jicama root juice is notable for its hydrating and nourishing properties

*bonus*-here’s my “recipe” to prevent the dreaded “Madonna Hands Syndrome”  (notice she is ALWAYS wearing gloves lately?  It’s to hide the aging).

  1. Wash hands with antibacterial soap and dab dry.
  2. Rub fresh sugar face polish all over hands and don’t skip in between fingers.  Wait 5-10 minutes and then rinse off.
  3. Apply fresh rose face mask to hands (don’t skip any parts again).  Wait 5-1o minutes and then rinse off.
  4. Apply your favorite deep moisture hand cream  Voila!  Instantly soft and hydrated hands that look youthful and vibrant!

The verdict?

Love love LOVE these products.

Love that they are natural and good for my skin

Love that they smell amazing

Love that they work and give me skin that is soft and dewy.

Give these a try-they’re worth the splurge!  Find fresh:

Review: Amie Morning Light Hydrating Daily Moisturizer

I received this product for review!  I like to mention that up front -my opinion of this product is my own!

I have combination skin-an oily T-zone and normal-ish cheeks.  I suppose I could use 2 moisturizers….I often use different primers on my face (one that mattifies for the T-zone and a ‘normal’ primer for the cheeks and neck).  I would rather be able to use one product-it’s a Goldilocks type of scenario.  One moisturizer is too light, one is too heavy…..

Amie Morning Light Hydrating Daily Moisturizer would be my ‘just right.’  Before I jump into my thoughts, here are the product details:

amie

Skin-friendly natural extracts of rosehip seed oil, rose extract and mallow.

Amie’s new MORNING LIGHT Hydrating Daily Moisturizer is a perfect blend of high-quality plant extracts and skin-friendly natural ingredients all designed to keep your skin soft and moisturized, all day long.

Perfect for skin that is prone to dryness and in need of gentle, effective nourishment, this lightweight rose-scented lotion is easy to apply and absorbed quickly, giving skin long-lasting hydration.

Perfect for even sensitive skin.

Key natural extracts include:

Rosa Canina Fruit Oil – the pressed seed oil extracted from the hips of the rose bush which grows wild in the Southern Andes. Rosehip oil contains a list of active ingredients which are beneficial to skin, as well as a high level of essential fatty acids which help the skin hold moisture and reduce dryness.

Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract – an extract from the flowers of the Cabbage Rose, Rosa Centifolia has skin-conditioning and toning effects on the skin.

Malva Sylvestris Extract – the flowers of the mallow plant are well-known for their soothing and softening effect on the skin.

My thoughts:

1. Love the fact that this moisturizer has natural extracts and oils in it.

2. My sister has sensitive skin so I may see if she likes this product.

3.  This product isn’t tested on animals and is paraben free, free of Mineral Oils,
Sulphates, GM Ingredients and Petrochemicals.

4. It does have a scent but it’s light (rose) and dissipates quickly. I like it.

5. It plays nicely with most of my makeup/primers.

My only caveat is that this moisturizer is a bit too light for my entire face during the harsh winter months-end of December through February.  I think in my case, I can use this moisturizer on my T-zone but will  pull out a ‘heavier’ moisturizer for my cheeks and neck.  In the spring and the summer is when I would get the most use out of a product like this.

Is it for you?

If you want a moisturizer that’s effective, and natural and you don’t have any major skin issues, I’d say go for this one.  It’s a great option and is priced well at $12.00 CAD for 100ml.
