You should visit….. Eric Del Monaco Hair Studio

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Eric Del Monaco for more than a few years. I met him at one of the first L’Oreal blogger events I attended since starting my blog.  Over time, I would see him at events, including one held at his own studio.  Since I’ve started working downtown again, I’m fortunate to be able to see Eric at his own studio, conveniently located across the street from my office. You should visit…..Eric Del Monaco Hair Studio.

Longer, stronger, better. Hair. With Priorin

Will Priorin help your hair grow?

Raise your hand if you’ve taken Biotin before-and NOT been impressed.  Honestly, I wasn’t pleased with Biotin and the other Hair, Skin, Nails vitamins on the drugstore shelves today.  I didn’t see results-even after taking them for several months and I did notice that Biotin caused me to break out.  It’s always been a struggle for me to grow my hair past my shoulders.  After I turned 40, I noticed my hair growth was even slower.  I have had hair extensions before-and while they did solve my length ‘situation’, my hair wasn’t better (or worse) afterwards.  So now, Priorin.  When I got this, I wondered if it would be any different.  Would I notice any sort of change-or would I be using this and then using my spot acne treatments.

Review- Live Clean Biotin Extra Body Shampoo and Conditioner

I received these products for review-if you watch me on YouTube you’d know that already (shameless plug).  So subscribe here please 🙂

Obviously my hair means something to me-especially if you know me or have seen me in person, on facebook, on instagram, on snapchat or on YouTube (again, shameless plugs).  I am, for the most part a professional salon product user -from conditioner, to shampoo, to styling aids and accessories.  Once in awhile, I like to ‘play the field’-which my stylist HATES (sorry Marina).  Seriously though, it’s good to take a look at what’s “out-there” and see if I’m missing anything.

The ULTIMATE WINTER SURVIVAL KIT!

I’ll be the first to jump up and say I love the ‘holiday season’ and by that I mean, I love the holiday season from the comfort of my own home.  Being out in the elements because I have to is one thing-but if I don’t have to, you’ll find me nestled under a throw blanket in front of the Christmas tree.  Since I’m still on my daily grind, with a 9-5 obligation, Olay, Secret, Pantene, and Herbal Essences have a few Winter Essentials to keep me looking my absolute best when I am toe to toe with Jack Frost.  Let me know how you brave the cold and thanks for reading!

Tarte Amazonian Clay shimmering powder in Champagne-this product was gifted to me and I honestly don’t think they make it in the shimmery quilted packaging that I have.  This is a beautifully buttery highlight with the right amount of shimmer.  It can be built up but looks beautiful wherever it’s applied.  (more…)

#beautyunited Pantene Age Defy Shampoo & Conditioner

*This is a #beautyunited post*

I’ve put my hair through a lot of processes for the past 30 years-it’s time to give back. Several days ago, on my quest to achieve THE perfect blonde, I went to the salon and had several hi-lift blonde shades put into my hair.  So right now, my hair is quite fragile and needs a lot of TLC.   I’ve been using Pantene Age Defy Shampoo & Conditioner for almost 2 weeks (prior to the hi-lift application) and I’d like to share my ‘findings’ with you.

BIG sea salt shampoo from LUSH

lush logo

My hair is fine in texture.   I have a lot of hair-but it’s flat.  I can get it big and voluminous with a lot of different products and some styling tools.  I added this shampoo to my repetoire as one more step towards ‘going BIG’

From the website:

Body-building shampoo for BIG hair and loads of shine

Over half the base of Big shampoo is made with sea salt, giving massive volume to hair in need of a boost. Sea salt is also full of minerals and de-greases hair, removing dead skin cells and dirt without stripping natural oils for a fresh, squeaky clean feeling. We balance the sea salt with seaweed infusion and extra virgin coconut oil for soft, nourished locks. Finally, fresh citrus juices are squeezed in for incredible shine.

My thoughts:

This is a shampoo you have to get used to.  It is granular and that can feel a bit ummmm ‘different’  than a standard shampoo. I scoop it out with my hands and massage it into my scalp.  Once you get it into your hair, it will lather (not a ton but it will). I usually work it in from root to about halfway down my head, and then let the shampoo trickle down to the ends.  I follow that up with veganese conditioner (another post coming on that eventually) which is light but provides enough moisture that my hair isn’t static.  Then it’s off to the races with a volumizing mousse or a texture spray (let me know if you are interested in seeing/reading about what hair products I use!).

I like this shampoo-it’s different and leaves my hair feeling clean and refreshed.  It’s more than I would like to pay for it, but the results are good so I’ll pay it once in awhile.  If you’re craving volume, it’s best to start with a clean scalp and hair-try this one out!
