Influenster Maple Vox Box!

Imagine my surprise when I saw an Influenster box sticking out of my mailbox. Sure I filled out the survey but really and truly did NOT expect to receive one!

That being said:

*This post contains products sent for review-Opinions are my own!*

I’m sure you can tell just by looking which products I tore into first…and no, not the skinny cow (although I am enjoying the dreamy clusters right now. So long diet!)

Since this was my first box (and I don’t have anything to compare it to), I was quite happy with the contents.  The box includes a product description card with suggested CAD retail prices.

I’ll have separate reviews on the N.Y.C. products but will say that one of the products I enjoyed and one was just meh.

The skinny cow dreamy clusters were in fact quite delicious…..I could’ve eaten about 300 more!  I see those in my shopping cart in the very near future.

I have yet to try the fabric mask but have heard very good things about Montagne Jeunesse (although this company neglected to invite me to their launch in Toronto, so I have a bad taste in my mouth about that).

Icebreakers have  made it into my purse.  I like the fruit/mint combination. It’s refreshing and not ‘heavy.’

The imPRESS nails are great-had them before but generally my nails are done when I go out (and again, another company that neglected to invite me to their launch in Toronto).

Generally speaking, I think this was a decent box (especially for the price of zero dollars).  I did see one person describe it as ‘craptastic’ which in my opinion is a bit harsh but to each his/her own, I guess.

Check out and sign up for influenster here.

My favorites from……essence!

I’ve got to put up a drugstore brand.  Essence has been a love of mine ever since it ‘landed’ in Canada several years ago.  I’m super impressed that nothing in the line is over $9.99 CAD.  LIKE SUPER IMPRESSED.

Marie Natie All-Natural Lip Gloss

I am no stranger to lip gloss.  I have a lot of it.  Lip gloss is probably one of my ‘must-haves’ when it comes to daily makeup. I can skip lipstick, eyeshadow, brow pencil and even blush but I must have gloss.  I prefer gloss for several reasons but mainly because it’s much easier to apply-especially if you forgot your mirror which I do often.  It’s also more sheer and moisturizing.  However, there are some down sides to gloss…my main complaint is that it’s sticky.  I hate a sticky gloss-even if the color is FANTASTIC and to-die-for…..if it’s sticky, I’ll pass.

Caryl Baker Visage Welcome to Paradise Collection!

There’s a Caryl Baker Visage in the PATH system.  I pass by it practically everyday.  Once in awhile, I have stopped by to get my eyebrows “done” and purchased an OPI polish or two there.  There’s makeup available but I never looked at it for very long-just didn’t see anything that caught my eye.

Holiday beauty with Arbonne!

I had the pleasure of meeting Davida G. just over a year ago at a Toronto Beauty Blogger Event.  She is beyond wonderful-especially in personality.   When I found out that she was an Arbonne Independent Consultant, District Manager, I thought…really? How can she be a makeup artist and ‘limit’ herself to only Arbonne products?

Simply Shiseido…

I have never tried Shiseido.   To be honest, it seems that it’s an “Asian” brand-and that’s not a problem for me, but I just felt the the skin care was all targeted towards whitening, and having very very pale skin.
