I’m gonna soak up the sun……(safely) with Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration!

Oh summer is here!  The patio chairs are outside and people are indulging in fruity after work cocktails and tapas/Hors d’oeuvres. Weekends are for the cottage and straight up lounging!

I knew that I liked using these products already so I ventured out into my network to find some ‘testers.’  Here are their thoughts on Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen products.

The beauty: Liz

The product:  Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect SPF 30 over the holiday weekend at the cottage!

Her Thoughts:

“Hawaiian Tropics Shimmer Effect sunscreen is great! It gives me that shiny beachy look that makes me feel like I am glowing!  The only downside is that the sparkles get everywhere!”

*I have to agree about the shimmer/sparkles-but since I am in love with shimmer, I don’t consider it a downside.  However, my other half seems to be annoyed that the shimmer is on his recently stained wooden patio chairs.  Personally, I think it enhances the chairs 😉

 

The Guinea Pig:  Brandon

The product:  Hawaiian Tropic SPF 85 Sunscreen Lotion and sunning on the condo balcony!

His Thoughts:

“This product is great because it’s light-not thick or sticky.  I like that it’s oil free and doesn’t have that sunscreen smell.”

 

The fairest:  Me!

The product: Hawaiian Tropic SPF 30 Silk Hydration- daily user because I have to function in the city!

My Thoughts:

“Since the first application of this, I have been using it as a lotion.  I apply it after my shower in the morning and take it with me to reapply-especially if I plan on being outside at all during the day.  The texture is great-it’s not that typical sticky, thick sunscreen.  This applies like a lotion and smells like the beach!  This product has made its way into my daily rotation!”

 

Applying sunscreen isn’t a chore-it’s a necessity!  Why not use a product that applies like a lotion and offers protection against UVA/UVB? Take care of your skin-it’s the largest organ you have!

Holiday beauty with Arbonne!

I had the pleasure of meeting Davida G. just over a year ago at a Toronto Beauty Blogger Event.  She is beyond wonderful-especially in personality.   When I found out that she was an Arbonne Independent Consultant, District Manager, I thought…really? How can she be a makeup artist and ‘limit’ herself to only Arbonne products?

30 days into miracle 10!

I have spoken before about how much I like miracle 10! Just wanted to give a quick update since I am now 30 days in!

This is my skin after 30 days using miracle 10 products-no makeup on here of course:

30 days in....not too shabby!

Barring some hormone issues, my skin is looking and feeling quite well-barring some (hormonal) blemishes!  I am more than happy with my miracle 10 and will continue to follow the program to see if 10 weeks makes the biggest difference of all!

Okay so I am (over) 10 days into my Miracle 10 skin care routine.  Here’s what I have:

10 hours after using Miracle 10.

and now, 10 days into the routine:

10 days in!

So …..do I see changes? Actually, yes I do!  Firstly, my skin looks a lot ‘brighter’ , I have noticed a decrease in the lines/dark circles in my undereye area…and the areas that I have sun damage are less noticeable now.  In addition, my skin actually ‘feels’ better and I find that I am using WAAAAAY less foundation, which is a definite plus.  You may notice a pimple on my chin-I am attributing that to ‘time of the month.’  I really haven’t experienced any breakouts!

So far, I am loving this.  I actually look forward to cleansing my skin and have seen visible improvement!  Awesome!

I have always had it in my mind that Chanel was an “off limits” brand for me.  Chanel is associated with luxury in my world ( and I know I am not alone there).  In addition, me being the person that I am (crazy+spontaneous+colorful), how could Chanel possibly fit into my life?

Dermalogica Skin Savvy SHAVE event!

What a fabulous Thursday I just had….

Even though not specifically intended for moi, I was lucky enough to tag along with my other half to the SHAVE event held at Dermalogica!

My first time here, so I had to take some photos of the space because this is the kind of office I would never be late for:

After meeting Emily P. (of Marketing Coordinator at Dermalogica fame-and of course, yours truly neglected to get a photo with her-boo) and Nadia (Clean Start Brand Manager & manager of Consumer events to include Skin Savvy events and joinFITE), I immediately checked out the ‘spread.’  Quite fantastic in a dude sort of way:

So we were ushered into a treatment/presentation room where we met Miss Charmaine.  Isn’t she lovely?

Charmaine was about to reveal the “proper” or shall I say ideal way to prep the skin for shaving, the actual way to shave, and what to do after shaving!  The Power Point was not only incredibly informative, it was also interactive/hands on AND there was a live straight blade shave demonstration going at the Dermalogica Skin Centre courtesy of  MANKIND Grooming Studio.  Check it out:
